When it comes to potato storage, consistency matters.
Temperature, airflow, and storage conditions all play a role in protecting the product. This facility was designed with that in mind from the start.
The building is a 112 x 200 Meridian Super Single potato storage, built to hold up to 6,000 tons. At the core of the design is a large centre plenum paired with an external fan house, allowing for even and controlled airflow throughout the space.
What makes this setup especially effective is its flexibility. The plenum can be split, making it possible to create two separate climate zones within the same building. That means different potato varieties can be stored at the same time, each in conditions suited to their needs.
Built with durability in mind, this project combines concrete and steel construction to handle the demands of agricultural storage while delivering reliable performance year after year.
At SWMW, projects like this are about more than just building a structure. It’s about understanding how the space will be used and making sure it works exactly the way it needs to.
